Our students will be assigned their Unit II vocabulary. I have comprised a few lists of additional vocabulary on Quizlet sets to enhance their proficiency level. I have posted these on Google classroom and will add them into a Canvas module. We will begin the preterito(past tense) this week!! We celebrated Dia de los Muertos last week- students made sugar skulls, papel picado, tasted pan de muerto, decorated skulls, watched Coco, wrote about traditional altar items and about honoring the passing of their loved ones. It was an amazing experience for them.
This week we will focus on conjugation, both present tense and preterite. Our learners will receive vocabulary related to household chores. My google classroom has additional information for our students.
Our students created blueprints of their houses this week, labeling all rooms and furniture. They will be working on this in the upcoming week as well as generating an ad to sell their home. We will begin the vocabulary for household chores at the end of next week. My students displayed amazing creativity this week with their Team Build!!
Our class has finished up our Spanish I review and will be taking a pre-assessment today and Monday(A day). We will begin our Unit 1: It's my Life vocabulary. This is an extension of the Spanish I unit that includes house, furniture, chores, and genres of media. Students will be able to construct sentences with the given vocabulary. The pre-assessment will show us where your student is at in his or her language journey.
Students were given the option of either making a video or poem with sentences that pertain to them. All of the sentences were a review of Spanish I material. They were presented in class and given a formal grade. The rubric was shared with our students.
Tomorrow we will begin our review of Spanish I vocabulary. Our class will be working on a mini-project, YO SOY Hough! There will be two options for the assignment. I will post the rubric on Canvas. Please review your vocabulary!!
